I Got Mail

I was getting ready to head out for work yesterday when the door bell rang. Before I open the door I sneak in the window of bedroom upstairs to check who was ringing the door bell I saw a truck from DHL. I hurriedly open the door and there was the courier guy from DHL bringing my package from my sister Ethel from Davao. I was so excited to open the pouch thinking there might be a letter attached to it. I opened the pouch and not even a short note was on it :(. I already knew what was she sending before I got the pouch. It was all legal documents that I need to sign and my other sisters in the US has to sign too.

Anyways, I just have to phone her to let her know I got the mail. I have to send this documents to my sisters and they can send it back home to be notarized.

Not Feeling Good

I am not feeling good today. I think I have my PMS, I am having menstral cramps. I just want to relax don't feel like doing any household chores. I hope I get better soon for I still lots of chores to do.

Anyone has hemorroid problems? That is what I am having right now for the first time. I have been constipated for days now it is the reason my hemorroid is swollen. It feels very uncomfortable that I don't like to stand and sit for a long period of time. It is just nice to lay in bed. I hope the medication will be working soon.

I am glad that I am off from work today while I got all these aches. Hoping and praying to God these aches will leave me away.

Pimples Gone

Anyone having pimples? It has been awhile I didn't have any pimples on my face. I just notice I have one on my leftside of my forehead and another one on my left chin. They just both started to swell and they are painful too. I guess nobody wants to have pimples. I might be stress or it is part of my PMS.

My sister gave my Pro Active and I always use them everytime I get a pimple. Pro Active is really effective for me. Once I put the Pro Active repairing lotion the pimple doesn't even have the chance to grow.
Hope these pimples heal soon.

Belated Happy Valentines

Sorry for the delayed Valentine Greeting. Todd and I didn't spend much on buying Valentine gifts. We went for dinner and he gave me a card at 12 midnight. I felt bad for I was not able to buy one for him. For us everyday is a Valentine, gifts are nice but we have other priorities that needs to be done.

We still had a good celebration of the occassion. We are looking forward on saving for the house needs some repairs and upgrading. We need to replace the shingles of the roof and replace the carpets. It will be done one at a time for they can be expensive. It is best to save the money first rather than charging it.

Hope you have a great celebration of your Valentines.

Family Day with Friends

Today is the family day holiday here in Canada but it was not applicable to all workers. I invited my friends to come over for dinner. I prepared dinugguan, breaded shrimp, calamare, pancit palabok and grilled milkfish. I made some bucayo(sweetened young coconut strips) and my friend brought a blueberry cheesecake.

We had a sumptous dinner. I am happy that they all like the food that I cook. It is nice to eat Filipino dishes. I like to cook but I don't feel like eating after when I am alone. "Mas lami kung daghan ang mo kaon inig human ug luto. It was nice to be with company of friends around.

Friends thank you for coming. Sa uulitin.

System Error

When I arrived to work today I was surprise most of the representatives were just outside of the production floor. It was because we had some issues with our systems. Some were able to take calls and continue with the work and others were not. When I log in to my computer there I find out that my system was also down. I was just waiting for it to come back on. After 3 hours it did come back but not for everybody and I was one of them. I don't know what was the error. I felt so bored waiting and waiting for it to came back so that I can work. Around ten to six I ask my supervisor what will I do, they just said to wait. I feel bad for most of them were already busy taking calls and there I am just sitting pretty doing nothing. I approached her again around seven o'clock and she told me that I can either stay or go home it won't go against my attendance. I just decided to go home and enjoy my evening. It would have been nice to stay and get paid without doing anything but I am also bothered by my conscience. Anyway, the rest of us that the system didn't work were also sent home.

I got home early tonight, I will just make up my hours tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be back to business.

Toe & Finger Nail Painting

While I was still in the Philippines I love to go to the parlor to have my nails done. Since I got here in Canada never had tried to go a nail salon for I find it costly. Back home If my manicurist is not available I don't go to anybody for I always get swollen toe nails after cleaning. I did learn to do it on my own. Early tonight I busy painting my nails after I cleaned them. I just love the color I put on they are very dark. It is just too bad I can't wear sandals to show them off for it is too cold to wear sandals for now.
My finger nails are not that long but I still like it. I love my own, lol. "Lingaw lingaw lang ni nako gud pa wala sa ka la-ay." (just taking time to enjoy painting my nails to get out of boredom)

Ground Hog Day

Groundhog Day is an annual holiday celebrated on February 2[1] in the United States and Canada on which if a groundhog emerges from its burrow and fails to see its shadow because the weather is cloudy, winter will soon end. If on the other hand, it is sunny and the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.[2

February 2 will be Ground Hog Day. Todd is very anxious to know what they gonna find out tomorrow for ground hog day. He is just hoping for a few more weeks of winter and to be done with it. He is already tired and had enough of this cold weather.
Will there will be six more weeks of Winter?

Telebabad with my Sister

I had the chance to talk with my elder sister from the Philippines last night. It has been awhile that I haven't spoken with her. She had some good news and bad news as well. I am just glad that she is enjoying with her work now after our Mom passed away.

I hope my niece is feeling better now after having bronchitis. She was admitted for 5 days in the hospital. My nephew also had an accident while on the way of buying some fishes for his aquarium. He got 8 stitches on top on his eye. The Dr. said he was lucky that it was not his eyes that were prick from the wire clothes line. It have cause blindness, thanks God he was spare from that.

My sister was happy and thankful that I sent something for her. I told her to send something to my niece for her birthday. I promised to myself to work harder do more overtime so that I can share my blessings even though its not that much. It is the thought that counts anyways.

Misty and Joel's Annual Shots

Last January 28, 2009, Misty and Joel had to go for their annual rabies shots. We were both up early to bring them to the vet's clinic. Upon seeing their registration papers we thought that Joel is 10 years old but we were incorrect. Joel was born in 1997 so he is now 12 years old going 13 by July 17.

We got some good news for both them with regards to their health. We were happy to know that Joel's heart murmur is still on the same level. His lungs are not filled with fluids. Last June he had a slip disc glad that it went back to normal but it is just his eyes that are glarey might affect his vision it is due to old age too. The vet said his legs are doing good too. Over all he is pretty healthy. On the other hand, Misty, is also doing good though her weight is a little over than normal. Her heart murmur stayed at level 1 same as last year. She had a loose tooth which the vet just pulled it, we thought she would cry but she didn't have any discomfort.

It is very expensive to have their teeth cleaned but the vet just suggested to give them denta stix. They just need to chew something hard to get rid of the tartar.

These dogs maybe costly but for Todd they are very precious. I like them too but when I think about dogs in the Philippines they are not taken care that much same as they do here. Don't get me wrong these dogs are really a good company. Todd would say that after these two dogs we won't get another one for they can be costly.

Diary Update

It has been awhile since I made my last posting for my blog. This to keep you an update of what had transpired in my life lately. For the past weeks I have been busy working. I have been doing overtime at work for they require it. We were busy on the past fews of January trying to catch up on everything. At times I get lazy of coming to work specially on a snowy weather but I managed not to be absent. I am just thankful I am still working for a lot of companies have laid off their employees and have cut back the hours.

I have been busy doing my crochet during my free time. Right now the project I am making is a cluster of shells I made it into a throw blanket. It is good to use it during the winter season. With regards to our weather winter is still here we had few snow storms for the past weeks. In fact there is another snow storm coming on Monday or Tuesday of next week as per weather network but hopefully things will change.

It has been three Saturdays now that we are busy helping Todd's aunt cleaning the house of his late aunt. She passed away last year since she has no kids then her sister is handling all her properties.

I am hoping to create another blog with all my crochet and knitting finished projects.

Small World

My workmate Vanna and I always talk each other about our American Cocker Spaniel dogs. She have a 9 year old male doggy. She said the other day after work she had to run after to her dog because it brush off when she open their main door. She said her doggy did that so many times that at one point he was really lost. Good thing that he has a tag on with their phone # and her neighbor on the other block brought her dog back. As I told her that my doggy is very behave she doesn't take off at all even if the front door is open. She laughed when I told her that Todd groomed Misty it wasn't done right. My poor doggy looks like a butchered dog. As Todd would say she is like a dog from the street.
I ask her how old was her dog and where did she get it from. When she said that her doggy is 9 years old and was born on April 9, 2000. I told her that my doggy is also 9 years old and was born also on April 9, 2000. I begun to wonder if our dogs are siblings. When she said they got it from Dunville there I confirmed that they are really siblings for we got Misty from Dunville too. It was really a small world for our doggies. I want to see a picture for her dog and she wants to see a picture of Misty too.

Happy New Year 2009!

Myspace Graphics
Happy New Year to all my friends. Sorry for the delayed new year greeting its better late than no greeting at all. Hope your start of the year is great with many opportunities along the way. My start of the year was pretty quiet and relaxing. The weather has been very cold it was just nice to stay at home. It was a totally different celebration compared back home where the weather is tropical. Everyone gets to enjoin the fun, fireworks outside when it is warm. Any new yea's resolution for you guys? I guess we always set our resolutions at the start of the year but as for me I try my very best to accomplish everything.
Let me give a recap of has transpired during 2008:
January, right after start of 2008 we were both back to work. Basically nothing special had happen for this month beside the celebration of the New Year. Todd and I have been wanting to go for a vacation just to give ourselves a break from the cold weather. We had a few snow storms during this month.
February the month of love. We went for a dinner not on Valentines day but the weekend after to celebrate. We just exchange cards trying to save on gifts, lol. We were both wishing winter will be over.
March glad that the weather had settle down. We were looking forward for Spring and busy planning for our camping activities. 18th of March was my Mama's 69th birthday I called her and greeted on her birthday. She has been very sickly lately and has been back and forth to the hospital.
April we both celebrated our birthdays. As we both grow older it was just a simple celebration we were just thankful for all the blessings and good health the Lord has given us. Todd gave me a card with a scartch ticket inserted hoping we will win but it didn't happen. It was just more for fun. I had been busy tending to my garden.
May we went camping to Four Mile Creek in time for the Victoria Day. We did enjoy it very much with the beautiful weather. Todd gave me a Harley Davidson riding jacket for mother's day. My sisters from Tennessee and South Carolina were planning for a visit to my place. I had the chance to talk to Mama on mother's day on the phone. Glad that she is doing better.
June was stressful for both of us. Our little chihuahua Joel got sick thought he won't make it. He had a slip disk and can no longer walk. We thought we had to put him down thanks God the steroids work on him. He made it alright. At the same time my Mama was confined in the hospital again after attending my niece debut in Davao. We thought that was the end of her for she was really in bad shape. She was already giving her last wishes to us as we talk toher on the phone. Thanks God she was able to survive but was getting weaker. Aunt Charlene passed away on June 8' 08 alone in her house. We were sad knowing her passing but happy that she is now in the hands of the Lord. My sisters and their respective families came over to Canada for a week visit. We had so much fun. We took them over to the Niagara Falls and experienced the Maid of the Mist boat ride. Aside from enjoying the beautiful scenic view of the Falls we took them to Canada's Wonderland. It was a busy month for both of us.
July was Todd's shutdown at work for a week and I booked the time off also. We went on camping to Allegany State Park in Pennsylvania. The park was very huge and nice but we didn't like the site that we were into. It was close to a swamp and the grass were never cut. We had some walks in the trail and visit to the musuem. We had some big camp fires. We only stayed there for 3 weeks and off we moved to Four Mile Creek in New York. The dogs really enjoyed there time we let them walk in the park. We were supposed to stay there for a few days but we got a call that Sharon's(Todd's sister-in-law) mom passed away. We had to packed up and leave to be with them. Todd and I had put some garden stones in the front garden. My Malaysian Mumps were starting to grow and have some leaves after winter season. We had a couple of bike rides as well.
August 7th was my 2nd anniversary at work. I got my work evaluation with flying colors and a merit increase which made me happy. We still went on weekend campings or sometimes just crossing the border to shop and be back the same day. August 24 was the Christening of my friend's baby and I was one of the Ninang. It was Sunday and not know that my Mama was no longer doing well. 25th of August I got a call from my sister that Mama is in the ICU unconscious. I was very exhausted and worried we have been talking back and forth with my family. I was not able to go to work. At 2:10 pm I got a call from my cousin that Mama was gone it was just right after we spoke with her on the phone. My world turned up side down I alone at home. I didn't know what to do I wanted to be there with her right at that moment but I was thousand miles away from her. I flew back to the Philippines on 28th with my sister to attend Mama' funeral. I can't understand the feeling I had in me. It was a sad trip back home.
September 5th we buried our dear Mama all of my sisters were there. We were complete it was the reunion of 5 of us. It was hard to bear the pain losing both of your parents but had to accept it for this is the cycle of life. I had the chance to meet my friends, relatives during Mama's wake. Todd was left here in Canada for no one can take care of the dogs. It was a double pain I had emotionally and physically for my right fingers were burned a day before I had to flew back. I had to go to Chong Hua Hospital to have the burns treated and secure a medical certificate for travel. 11th of September off my sister and I flew back to the US. We felt sad leaving our sister behind alone in our ancestral home. 9-11 we arrived at Atlanta, GA the security of the airport was very tight. We parted our ways in Atlanta. She was bound for Raleigh, North Carolina airport and I was for Buffalo, New York. Todd met me at the airport. It was nice to be back again.
October was the Rosary Month had been trying to pray the rosary everyday. I was back to work but still felt lonely and sad. I tried to work hard as much as I could to pay all the expenses incurred. We had the Canadian Thanksgiving on the 13th there was no Turkey for us. I just prepared roast beef for dinner. We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on the 20th. Todd took me for dinner and gave me a pearl ring. It was the fall season my Malaysian mumps were in full bloom. The garden looked very colorful. I had been crocheting some scarves for the cold weather. It was also Mama's 40 days I had completed my 9 days novena for her soul. I was happy that I got a gift card from work for their appreciation of my hard work.
November is getting close for Christmas. I had said to myself I won't be putting any decorations for Christmas I just want to let this year passed. I am still grieving. The weather has been getting colder and the economy has not been doing good. Todd was worried about lossing his job. Good thing that back in August we were trying to scale back on our toys.
December was the last month of year. Winter is here we had our snow storm very early in December. We were planning to go to my sister in Tennessee provided we both get the time off. Everyone was busy for Christmas for Todd and myself we just agreed not to exchange gifts trying to save. He had bought a remote car starter for my car that was a good idea especially that my car door won't close if it gets very cold. I gave Todd my gift certificate that I got from work in October. He wanted an MP3 player. At work we had a sumptous plot dinner and we all enjoyed. I got some cookies and chocolates from my friends. We celebrated Christmas Eve on the road to Tennessee. We had fun at my sister's house had to chance to be with the kids. It was on 26th of December that we found that my sister is having a baby. We were all happy there is a new addition of the family inspite of the loss of our Mama. Thanks to my sisters for the wonderful gift for Christmas.
2008 has been a great year for us inspite of the sad moments, frustrations and problem we encountered along the way. I leave the worries behind and let the memory of the lingers in my heart to cherished forever. Hope your 2008 was full of blessings. I am thankful to our Lord Almighty for all the strenght, love and guidance he had given and for always being there for me. I love you Lord and I praise your Holy Name. To our parents though you are both gone but in our hearts you will stay forever. We love you Mama & Papa and misses you so much. Till we meet again.
I wish all the best for the year 2009. I am hoping this will be a year for me for more opportunities to come in life. Hope we will be able to get out of this recession.
